Keep Moving Forward

Keep Moving Forward

This is one of my absolute favorite Disney quotes. It is a quote that Walt Disney made that one can actual find evidence to support the statement. Look at the history of Disney, and you will definitely see the progress and success. The Disney company is always looking forward, dreaming, and making advancements.
It truly is inspiring.
So, keep dreaming. Keep moving forward.

When It Rains…

When It Rains...

What do you do?

When it rains, what do you do?
Do you grab an umbrella?
Do you run through it or dance?
Do you jump in the puddles?
Do you sing “Rain, Rain go away” in true hopes that it stops raining?

Is your outlook on rain positive or negative?

Now, you may be asking “Why are you asking all these questions about rainy weather???”
Well the ultimate reason is that I believe it may reflect how a person handles dilemmas. This was my thought process just yesterday:
I had just finished a nice cup of coffee and a bit a work at breakfast in the University Center and was on my way to my first class. I stepped outside in a nice outfit–a new one that I was very proud of– to find that it was raining. As I walked across campus to one of the furthest building from the UC, I thought about the situation.
I thought about how I knew the sky looked grey this morning and how I knew there was a chance for rain.
I thought about how I had forgotten my umbrella and how I wasn’t exactly sure where it was.
I thought about how my cute outfit and nice boots were getting wet.
I thought about how the rain could get worse later.
And then I thought….well, why think this way? It wasn’t like I could change the weather, so why not just enjoy it, right?
It could still be a great day.

When an unexpected event happens like rain, a flat tire, or something messing up, what do you do? Do you stress? Do you panic? Does your temper rise? Does one hiccup ruin your whole day?

“Our way of thinking creates good or bad outcomes.”
―Stephen Richards

I believe, we can really miss out on great things when we focus on the negative. I also believe that we don’t usually intend to think negatively. It is a reaction. It can be natural. It is the true rain. That is to say that negative thinking is the true rain cloud that over shadows a wonderful thing.

“Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation.”
― Michael Jordan

You have to intentionally be positive. So why not choose to be positive? Why not dance in the rain?

“Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will”

–Zig Ziglar

Think positive, enjoy the rain, and even dance 🙂

What are your thoughts on rain or positivity?

“Success isn’t a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.”
-Arnold H. Glasow

Truth: success is possible, but isn’t easy. It will take work.

Therefore, be passionate about your dreams and determined to achieve your goals.

Set yourself on fire 🙂

Power of the Roar

Let’s talk about my most recent favorite song, shall we?

Now, I don’t usually listen to Katy Perry, but I honestly love her new song “Roar”. Why?
Well, obviously it is catchy, and I like any song I can have fun singing to.
However, I mostly like it because I feel like it is an empowering song.
I’m not positive if I want to compare it to the “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, but that is the best comparison that comes to mind.

I mean, I want to listen to this song when I wake up to start the day, when I work out, or when I need a little encouragement.

Just take a look at the lyrics:

“I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything

You held me down, but I got up (hey!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, your hear that sound
Like thunder, gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready ’cause I had enough
I see it all, I see it now

I got the eye of the tiger, the fire
Dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
‘Cause I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar!

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar!

Now I’m floating like a butterfly
Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes
I went from zero, to my own hero

You held me down, but I got up (hey!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, your hear that sound
Like thunder, gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up
Get ready ’cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now

I got the eye of the tiger, the fire
Dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
‘Cause I am a champion, and you’re gonna hear me roar!

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar! x2

Roar, roar, roar, roar, roar!

You’re gonna hear me roar! x2″

Side note: I put my favorite lyrics in bold. Of course, I like the chorus, but there are also good verses.

There is a power in words and music. I really find the words in this song to be positive, encouraging, and empowering. I’d recommend this song to anybody, especially young girls. Instead of listening to these songs about accepting being hurt, crying over love, and even seeking revenge, I believe they should listen to songs like this. This is a girl overcoming what she has been through and stepping up to her full potential with confidence and enthusiasm.

And I believe this song can be applied to multiple situations.

  • Being put down by others and their opinions
  • Knocked down and even hurt by loved ones
  • Having a dream dismissed by others
  • Struggling in school or trying to achieve a goal

Basically, I think this great motivational music, and that is my opinion. I hope you enjoy it as well and possible share it with someone you think needs a little encouraging.

What did you think of the song? Or what songs make you feel empowered?

Give the World a Reason to Dance

Give the World a Reason to Dance

What are you going to do?

What you going to do to cause the world to celebrate? To dance?

Thats right, what reason are you going to give the world to dance?

I Believe in a Better Way

I Believe in Believing in a Better Way.

First, (I hate to redirect you, but it is the only way) check out this video here.

What exactly is that? Well, I believe the video explains it all; however, I’ll elaborate some. Believing in a Better Way is an organization started by a great friend and mentor of mine, Jerrod Murr, and he basically believes that there is a better way of living. Jerrod believes in living life to the fullest, in living a purposeful life. That passion has turned into a wildfire of inspiration and was the spark to this organization.

What does this organization do? It inspires people to chase after their dreams. It motivates people to live a purposeful life. It trains people to focus and build on their strengths.

If you read or follow my blog regularly, then you know how I feel about inspiring and motivating others. Therefore, you’ll understand that I believe in this organization a hundred and ten percent. Also, being a part of the 20 Camp which is a part of Believing in a Better Way, I say with much enthusiasm that this organization has been a blessing to be a part of. I’ve been inspired, seen people inspired, and have had the chance to inspire others.

Why am I blogging about this?
1. To share what I believe in. I’d love to know what you believe in! 🙂
2. To inspire. You can life a purposeful life and create your own organization that can impact lives.
3. To Promote? Definitely! If you haven’t been a part of this or experienced this, I highly encourage you to get connected.
4. To introduce a blog that is to come. I promise to post specifically about 20 Camp because that is absolutely what I believe in and is a strong passion of mine. 😀

You can check out Jerrod Murr at his blog here.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my enthusiastic rant and that your interest is sparked.
